This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love Yearbook. Over the course of a year, strangers become best friends, building a chronicle of the school year. My class builds exemplary yearbooks and sell out every year. They love going out and taking photographs, learning about design, and practicing their social engagement skills. They become confident and proud of what they do! Creating a yearbook is a memory that remains with students for a lifetime. They learn about design, social engagement, entrepreneurship, and how to engage and support each other.

My Project

My students become skilled and proficient students in yearbook design. These new cameras will allow them to continue to take high quality pictures and produce and amazing Yearbook! By using new digital cameras, students will be able to build an excellent yearbook using the web based software that requires a higher pixel count on the cameras. That means fewer pictures being rejected by the yearbook publisher because of low resolution or poor lighting. It will also help students develop their photography portfolios with a higher quality image than previous pictures and enter additional photography competitions on the state and local level!
