Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are vibrant. My students are energetic. My students are diverse. They are passionate, enduring, and have the future at their fingertips. My students contribute to their school and community, but they are also at a disadvantage.
Most of my students come from broken and/or poverty-stricken homes.
The school hosts an over 90% population that is on free or reduced-price lunch making us a Title I school. Despite the economic state of many of our students, they show us on a daily, how motivated they are. They want to provide a better life for themselves, and they are working hard to try to get there; they want to develop life skills that will allow them to move forward in life.
My Project
Our TV Production program is very much in need of updating its equipment. The equipment currently in the TV Production room is older than the students currently attending. They are enthusiastic about creating some quality videos and morning announcements but they are unable to do so. Many students want to pursue a field in the tv world, and with better equipment, they will be able to better tend to their passion.
If this project is to become funded, the students will be able to begin to improve the quality of their work in the TV Production field.
Some of the issues we have had as a program is being unable to properly record sound. That is where the Saramonic SR-WM4CA Portable Wireless VHF Handheld Microphone System come in to play. With this microphone system, the students will be able to interview better and capture sound better. In addition to microphones, a FeiyuTech AK2000 3-Axis Camera Stabilizer Gimbal and Zhiyun (Official) Smooth 4 Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer will allow the students to smoothly record events and games at the school and extracurricular activities, allowing the students to showcase school activities with higher quality. The students will also need access to printing out scripts and segment ideas. At this moment, we do not have access to a printer so we will need a Canon Color imageCLASS LBP622Cdw as well as Cool Toner Compatible Toner Cartridge Replacement for HP 85A, HP 65XL in black and tri color, and Amstech Compatible Toner Cartridges Replacement for Canon 054H 054 Cartridge in order to have plenty of ink for the students.
Having access to these pieces of equipment will surely help the students bring up the production value of out TV Production program.
