Help me give my students teachers who bring to the classroom the latest stragegies that support metacognitive learning, critical thinking, student engagement and a high-level of student-student accountable talk!
I have an amazing group of 30 students ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade- a fantastic group of kids with an eagerness to learn! The students service need additional support in language arts or Mathematics. I not only support the students as the interventions coordinator, but I support their teachers as well, as the school's instructional coach. Our school is a public school set in a large urban city that supports a diverse group of students, (a range of ethnic & socio-economic backgrounds). Our student body includes a percentage of English Language Learners with diverse language needs, and a large percentage of G.A.TE: Gifted and Talented Students who participate in our Advanced Studies Program and a Special Education population of students all being served in a wonderful neighborhood in the center of Los Angeles. We have a very supportive parent body that supports teachers in their endeavors in educating their children! We have one of the best after school programs in Los Angeles that provides homework assistance and enrichment classes for students K-5th grade, including a large scholarship program that provides for those in need. Our school provides art, music, orchestra, theater arts and a supplemental P.E program two days

Please support my most recent educationl project...A book set titled, "Assessment-Ready, Visable Capable Learners". As the intervention teacher and instructional coach, I not only support students who are working below grade-level, but also support teachers in the classroom, bringing the most recent educational research & strategies to make learning not only fun and inspriring, but affective! This book set offers our teachers Our teachers the highest-rated strategies to bring into the classroom that will impact classroom learning. The book focuses on ways to get kids to think about their own learning- assessing what they already know, what they need to know and where they are going with their learning. It focues on ways teachers can explicity teach learning goals and strategies to meet those goal. I hope I can count on support across the nation to get this book set for our teachers and in turn, our students.
