Help me give my students materials for a musical to perform and books, supplies, and a parachute to make our music classroom a fun and productive place!
Our students are smart and creative and come from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school itself is a performing arts magnet, and students have the opportunity to take music, movement/dance, drama, and media weekly, and they are eager to learn and to be creative.
Over 75% of our students receive free/reduced price lunch.
In music class, we work on enjoying and playing music together, fostering musicianship and playing together in an ensemble. We sing, play instruments, and move to the beat! Our goal is to create lifelong artists, learners, and good citizens!
My Project
This project includes the musical "Pajama Party" which we will use in first grade for the students to perform and do a program for their parents!
Performing for an audience gives us a goal to work toward as we work in class on the songs and dances that we will showcase for families and our community-making memories!
Other items in this project include a Bluetooth speaker to use when we practice in other rooms besides the music room as well as folders to keep our music in. The book Sulwe is also included in this project and will be used in a lesson about diversity for all grades. The parachute will be used for fun music activities teaching form and the other office supplies included such as pens and Sharpies are simply needed in the music classroom every day and will help us be productive and not lacking in necessities!
