Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year our middle school is holding the first school wide leadership elections for Student Council in recent memory. The students are overjoyed with the chance to have an outlet for their tremendous leadership skills. However, their enthusiasm will not be enough to get the organization off the ground. In our first meetings, we have identified the need for a working budget to cover overhead for larger fundraisers. A School Store was suggested to fill the need for a constant source of income, but our school budget has little to spare. Additionally, it would serve as a wonderful opportunity to practice their math skills in a practical and real way.
I am seeking the school supplies necessary to start the School Store. We only need minimal supplies to create a self sustainable and completely student run store. I am seeking binders, paper, pencils and pens, and notebooks.
