Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
My students show up to school excited and ready to learn!
It is my goal to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.

My Project
My goal is to put students in control of their own learning. With that being said, I want to provide a classroom where students are comfortable in their own chair.
Flexible seating is the way to go!
For the past few years, I have used flexible seating and my students are enjoying having a choice of where to sit. However, the problem that we are running into now, is that many of our stools have broken. As a result, I am requesting three sturdy wooden stools to replace some of the stools that have broken. My students enjoy higher stools at our higher table because it gives my students the ability to switch between sitting and standing when they are completing work. The cushion will provide extra comfort as students sit on the wooden stools.
I want to continue to be able to provide my students different seating options around the classroom as they are learning, so thank you in advance for believing in the importance of flexible seating!
