Help me give my students the ability to hear documentaries that interest them, make music online and collaborate with friends, learn a new language and hear it spoken, and so much more!
At our school we believe that kids should follow their passions and curiosity. This will ultimately lead them to careers that are fulfilling. We are one of the first schools in our district to implement the Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM) where students are grouped according to their interests. They then get to learn together based on mutual interests. They then learn how a professional who has the same passions and interests works and eventually, the students become junior professionals.
This project will help our entire 4th and 5th grades and half of 3rd grade.
My Project
Currently our upper elementary students are engaged in a new project at our school known as the Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM). Students get to spend at least one hour a week experiencing new topics until they find something they want to pursue as a passion project.
Our students need headphones so they can listen to videos that have information on their topic, or to be able to hear themselves make music online, or to hear how a foreign language is pronounced.
Since the students are grouped by interest, they often want to listen to the same thing as the same time. The headphone splitters will help all 120 students share their passions.
