My Students

The students at our school come from a diverse neighborhood in Philadelphia. Although some of our families struggle financially, they care immensely about their children and their local public school, and show up with smiles on their faces.

Although we are lucky to host many musical opportunities at our school, we are not so fortunate to have all of the funding necessary.

The students at our school love music, and it is an integral part of their lives. Whether they are listening to the latest top 40 hits or local underground hip hop, they are always sharing with me their latest musical finds.

My Project

This year our school's rock band will be gaining a lot of momentum. Eventually we will be traveling to other venues and locations to play concerts and we will need to safely transport our instruments.

We have some decent guitars and basses, but we do not have a safe way to transport them because cases were not included in their sale price.

Students will also be allowed to take instruments home over the weekend to practice if we can obtain these gig bags.

These may seem like silly items to request, but unfortunately everything pertaining to music (including instrument cases) is expensive.
