Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach preschool and I've always loved Montessori versus traditional school because I feel like life experiences are important. When we were younger, we learned through play. We found that smaller things fit inside bigger things because we tried it (like my students will with the Nesting Dolls). We had fun creating and identifying patterns by stringing shapes onto laces (like my students will with the Threading Beads).
Play can help enrich learning and develop key skills such as inquiry, expression, experimentation, and teamwork.
The items such as the Lincoln Logs, Train Set, and Animal Jenga will help students with their communication skills along with learning to take turns and share. This helps to promote a positive environment for everyone!
