This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
It's hard out there for a middle schooler these days. Many of our young ladies struggle with anxiety and ways to express themselves in a calm and constructive manner. Journaling has been a great way for our girls to write down how they are feeling and release the stress of just being a middle schooler in a triggering environment. Journaling has also helped some of our girls with anxiety and other mental health challenges. The young ladies that receive a journal will be able to take it wherever they go and are able to use it to reflect in order to continue to grow and learn about themselves.
