Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students from our school are kind to each other and like to help their community as well. We are a public, K-8 school with over 1,200 students located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are a Title I school. My students are bright and motivated, and they try their best even when the going gets tough.
Our students are always willing to help others without even being asked.
They are extremely good citizens and we are very proud of that fact!
My Project
I would like to help the ESOL students at my school by getting them books that are on THEIR reading levels! These books will be given to ESOL students in fourth grade and in Kindergarten. These books will help our beginner readers become superstar readers. Our ESOL students are learning English and really enjoy reading books. It is a problem that we don't have nearly enough books specifically on their reading levels. I am asking for books on the A, B, C, and D reading levels. These books will help our readers who are just starting out. We hope that by reading these books, our students will discover the joys of reading! Thank you in advance for all of your support.
