I teach third grade at a Title One school in Virginia. My students are all unique and bring different experiences and personalities to our classroom. We love learning each day and expanding our minds by being historians, scientists, mathematicians, writers and readers.
My students love using white boards to show their knowledge in whole and small group settings.
They often work better when they are doing, rather than watching. The one downside to this is that our dry erase markers do not last long. I would love to give them more dry erase markers that will last, to help support their engagement and love for learning.
My Project
My students enjoy using their personal, dry erase boards to solve math problems, answer questions related to reading and writing topics, as well as draw representations of social studies and science concepts. There is just one problem. Their dry erase markers are dying and disappearing. Our classroom supply of dry erase markers has shrunk and we are almost all out.
These requested Expo dry erase markers will make a huge impact on my students.
They will be able to continue using their dry erase boards in their small groups to showcase their knowledge in a way that they enjoy. Specifically, we use these dry erase boards at least four days a week for our small math groups alone. Each day, it seems as if another dry erase marker has bit the dust. Additionally, we will use the Astrobright paper to print task cards so they are visually appealing to students.
