My students need costumes for their upcoming dance show entitled "Foundations" on March 28th. Our inner-city students are financially unable to cover the costs of their Liturgical / Praise Dresses & would greatly appreciate your support!

My dance classes are organized, creative chaos where my students really get to unwind and entertain each other. A lot of my students have been classified by others as being troubled, but--to me--they are multi-talented artists who love to perform. Dancing gives them a creative, safe outlet to express themselves in a constructive way.
Dance education and performance can benefit students in different ways, including improving students academic performance, higher graduation rates, increased creativity, and raised cultural awareness.
For many school districts, funding for certified dance teachers and dance programs in public schools have all but disappeared. In the rare cases when schools are able to start new fine arts programs, most are unable to provide the necessary materials/equipment for students to learn and succeed. Our school is ranked at the bottom 10 percent in our state. 100 percent of our student population qualifies for free lunch.
We are currently preparing for our End-Of-The-Year dance production. Most of our students can not afford to purchase costumes for the show. We are asking for assistance for costume pieces that can be used for a yearly basis. Thanks!
On March 28 & 29th, 2018, Booker T. Washington High School will be having our 2nd Annual Dance Production entitled "FOUNDATIONS" celebrating 3 remarkable choreographers--Alvin Ailey, Jaquel Knight, & Fatima Robinson--who not only inspired the world to move...but helped build the artistic foundation for dance through fearless, profound, & enduring works of art.
Our students lack of financial resources should not keep them from being able to put on a high quality dance production for their peers, friends, & family.
These costumes would put the icing on the top of the cake for their performance and we would love your support!
