Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at one of the most wonderful continuation schools in the southern San Joaquin Valley. My students are in need of alternative settings and education programs, most often credit recovery to move them closer to graduating with a high school diploma.

Our students are hard-working, dedicated, and honest students who are driven to do the best that they can to succeed.

They work hard in school, and often they are also working hard outside of school.

My Project

Our students are 16-18 year old's at our local continuation school. We have a small campus with limited space, and we try to make the most of it. Our students still have PE requirements, and we have tried to create a space for them to be active over the years.

Many of our students work during the hours when they are not in school, and that doesn't leave them time to stay physically active.

Providing our students with as many means of physical activity as possible helps us to support them as they create good health habits and active lifestyles.
