Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are learning English as a second language! They are vibrant fourth graders who have tough lives. My students have the highest goals, hopes and dreams, but due to life's hardships, they need help in attaining them! The sky is the limit for them as they dream of having an educated future!
My students live in the inner city and school is an oasis for them.
They fight through a lot of challenges and somehow never give up.
Language, with many parents being illiterate, and poverty are just some of the things they struggle with. Our classroom is colorful and uplifting to offer hope to all who enter and study here!
My Project
In my proposal, I am asking for what probably is the most needed classroom supply in 2019: ink! We have a classroom printer that we were very fortunate to get from Donors Choose, but our ink is running low! We desperately need your help!
The printer and ink are the hub of the classroom!
I often think of it like the hub of an airport! Everything quite literally centers around its use! Unfortunately in schools today, basic supplies like this are non existent. We use our printer for everything! We print timely data goals for our kids, colorful resources for math, reading, writing and science, items for bulletin boards which act as resources for our students, certificates for academics and behavior achievements, important notices, etc!
Our printer keeps us going! It allows me to personalize learning for EVERY CHILD constantly! If I can do this, my students each grow PERSONALLY. This ink is so important for our classroom! I am hoping someone can help us! Thank you so very much!
