Help Our Breakfast Stay Fresh, An Important Start to the Day!

My students need a refrigerator to keep breakfast items, like milk, fruit, and vegetables, fresh. Students can start their day with the meal that is most beneficial.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My minority students are fighting incredible odds to come to school. I can help them succeed by introducing them to healthy nutrition. In the morning, my students can forget to eat breakfast, or there is nothing in their house to eat. They often come to school very hungry and have trouble focusing.

My 150 students attend a Continuation High School in a low socioeconomic region of the Bay Area and are in the roughest neighborhood in America's 11th most dangerous city.

The students need additional support to maintain motivation to learn and stay in school. The students often have problems with teachers or time schedules that do not allow them to eat a traditional breakfast or even eat a second chance breakfast before class begins. I will facilitate the use of the refrigerator to keep milk, fruit, and vegetables fresh for the students. This way the students can eat breakfast as soon as they come to school, begin to concentrate, and further their education.

My Project

FEED USA is committed to helping ensure that all students are able to focus and concentrate throughout the day and the programs support this goal. In order to help my students do their best, they need the chance to have breakfast every morning, so that their hunger doesn't prevent them from learning. I am asking for a refrigerator in order to address my student’s personal needs, so that they can focus on all of the things going on in the classroom. When students skip breakfast, they are likely to become tired because their brains are low on fuel. Students who have breakfast in the morning exhibit: Improved attendance and less tardiness, Concentration, alertness, energy, and show improved in overall academic performance. We all know the feeling of trying to concentrate with a rumbling stomach. It is difficult enough as an adult, but even more challenging for an teenager. Please help my students stay committed to their education by providing them with these much needed resources.

Donors, I make a simple request of a refrigerator for high school students of disadvantaged backgrounds, who need breakfast everyday to help them get a beneficial start to their day.

Students have limited to no available breakfast options at home and often come to school hungry. Having a refrigerator stocked with healthy breakfast items will make a difference to students wanting to succeed.
