"You can do it!" is a phrase often heard in our classroom. It is important that children understand that they are capable of accomplishing anything they set their mind to. We are encouraging growth mindsets and making sure students believe in themselves.
If you have the attitude to succeed, you will!
Character is a huge focus in our classroom. Students are encouraged to try new things and even have time for "Genius Hour" where they are able to explore and learn about things they are passionate about.
In our flexible seating classroom, learning is not a rigid experience, but rather a flowing, busy, collaborative time of teamwork and curiosity.
Our classroom is run through a Competency-Based Education model. Students work through standards independently, at their own pace with a blended learning approach. These Osmo games will allow students to work on different skills while collaborating with peers and staying engaged while learning.
Students love using technology to enhance their learning.
When they can apply new skills and strategies in an engaging way, their learning is more concrete. Even when students need to practice skills they have already learned, applying them is gameplay is a great way to secure those skills. These Osmo games will bring a whole new versatile center to our math and word study workshop so that students can continue working on their personalized learning pathways.
