My Students

Our students are wonderful, little middle schoolers from the South Bronx! We are in District 7 one of the most underserved populations in the city, even nation. We have amazing children who need as much assistance as they can get. This project is to help them acquire hygiene products that we recognize as a huge deficit for many. We hope to fund money for shampoo, tooth paste, brushes etc. They would benefit greatly from these types of donations. We have many boys and girls who come to school with hygiene issues that are out of their control and we want to help them with this not only for obvious reasons but to promote self esteem and socialization.

My Project

I am looking to continue my mission of getting healthy snacks for my children. We are a title 1 school, meaning all children qualify for free or reduced lunch. Having snacks on hand, I believe will help provide them with daily nourishment, but also keep them focused. Feeling hungry and thirsty all day, would distract anyone and so we aim to ensure they do not face this issue. Each support staff member would have snacks on hand when a child is in need. These can also be used in situations that require incentives; for example, if a student is coming late to school everyday, a granola bar or snack can be given to motivate them.

I am eager to bring this project to our school.

My students are extremely bright and driven young people. My kids can do well as long as they have the necessary resources available. This project will ensure just that!
