Help me give my students these things so that they can learn to play and work with peers, learn language and other crucial social skills we need to be successful in life and in general education classroom.
I have a class that is called ECSE, Early Child Special Education and I have all 3 year olds. I have 2 classes, and AM class and a PM class with a current total of 11 students. I get new students all year long. Most of my students have Autism and we are working on getting functional communication, self help skills and social skills. I also have some students with Emotional Disturbance and we are working on social skills and communicating appropriately with others. I am in a brand new school and have very few "toys" and supplies. I have borrowed some and had some but the attention span in interest is short and limited with these students. We are in need of many things to help us succeed. I am working hard to get my students ready to interact and hopefully join the general education in Prek or K when they are old enough.
My Project
These things that I have requested will help my 3 year old Autistic students learn how to work with other students. Learn play skills, increase attention span and interest in new things. They will also help them gain knowledge in Math, Reading prerequisite skills which are so very important. All of them will be used in the classroom only and not taken home.
It is so important that these student learn these skills so that they can be successful in the future.
Early intervention and Education in so important. We all need to do our very best to support these students so that they can learn how to "share", "play with others", "acknowledge others", "create new interests". Please help us grow!
