Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are wonderful young individuals who jump at the opportunity to participate in class and present. They enjoy working with each other. They enjoy moving around the classroom, going to the board, and being active. They're excited about what their futures will be.
Although they understand the importance of learning mathematics, at times, they need a little help getting refocused.
It would be helpful to get toys and games that can give them a break when they need one.
My Project
My students are wonderful individuals who enjoy learning. However, they are in the school for over 6 hours. Sometimes they just need a break to refocus.
In this project, I would like my students to have manipulatives that they can play around with to help them focus.
A majority of the manipulatives requested require them to think to solve. I've requested building blocks, number games and logic puzzles, as well as a variety of fidget toys such as fidget balls and fidget cubes. Although they are getting a break from math class, they will still be thinking. It will not be complete free time.
