Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects. They work both individually and in teams to design solutions to a variety of problems using 3D modeling software.

My entire class of students are from under served minority populations.

They have limited or no access to resources that can help them sharpen their skills. Although my students are eager to learn and ready to explore new ideas, unfortunately, they don't have enough resources like other students may have. Otherwise, my students have always been very eager to extend their knowledge to be ready for a bright future.

We also expose our students to current and high technology. Most of them have never experienced a 3D printing in their life yet. Having an access to such technology will broaden their worldview and will be a step in pursuing a STEM career.

My Project

My students prepare 3D designs using different design programs like Autodesk Inventor.

This printer will allow most of my students to be able to print a 3D deign and experience the technology for the first time in their life. If we have a printer in class, every student in the class will have a chance to print their sketches.

Even though it seems a small, I sincerely believe that this resource will help my students turn in their projects on time and sharpen their engineering skills.

It will definitely make a difference in their lives and they will become ready for future challenges.
