Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a Title 1 school with almost 95% on free or reduced lunch. Our students have limited access to computers. I would say over 90% of the students do not have a computer or tablet at home. These students work hard and we try our best to provide them with the best instruction possible.

We are an IB program school and as teachers, we try to expose our students to the world while creating an environment that is tolerant and accepting of all.

My Project

My students are a mix between 8th graders taking geometry and those taking pre-algebra. This document camera will allow me to break down any mathematics problem or geometric equation so all my students can see and fully grasp the concepts. This will allow for an enhanced learning enviorment for all my students.

Currently my students are limited to what is on the board but with a document camera I can show more resources than the board allows including tips and other elements from our text book and other resources along with more vigourous "live"notes.

My students are extremely hard working and this will add another element of learning for them!
