I am a social studies and history teacher at an underfunded urban school in Brooklyn, N.Y. I remember when I was a student, and so much of the history I learned came to life through videos and documentaries. While some may view movies as non-academic, I think they help our students see and understand in ways that the textbook does not. Unfortunately, the few VCRs already in our school are often broken or in use by other classrooms. It is very difficult to schedule movie viewing for more than one day. I would be extremely grateful to have a TV and VCR in my class that I could depend on for day-to-day use. My students would be even more appreciative! Thanks for your consideration!
