Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our classroom mascot is the Creative Crayons! My students come into the classroom with many different backgrounds. These are the sweetest kids you will ever meet. I want to make sure they feel comfortable and safe in their learning environment. They are eager to learn and become engaged in their learning. Many of my students have a tough time staying in their seat and focused on our learning. A normal desk and chair does not seem like the best fit for my students this year.

My students are the heart of our classroom, they deserve to receive materials needed to help them succeed in the classroom.

Being a new teacher, I lack different types of seating and tools for the needs of my students. Many of my students have a very tough time learning without a variety of seating and tools to keep them focused. My students love to move around and stay active, it would be awesome to provide materials to help them focus on learning while moving around. I know the students would be very appreciative to receive these materials in the classroom.

My Project

My students are constantly moving their bodies. It is very difficult for my students to stay focused when their bodies are moving. It is very difficult for a few of my students to keep their mind focused. This year, my students need extra support to help their body move around so their mind can focus on learning. When other students are moving around or using their voice, the rest of the class has a tough time focusing. The materials in this project will give my students the supports needed to keep their brains thinking and learning.

By donating to my project, you are helping all students in the classroom stay engaged in their learning.

The students that cannot sit still, will be able to sit in a wobble stool or wiggle cushion. These materials help to keep their bodies doing something so their brain can focus on the task at hand. They will no longer be thinking about how to move their body, they will think about what they are learning. My students need more space to sit at the carpet for learning time. The sit spots will help separate them from each other to learn better. Please help keep my students engaged in their learning every day.
