Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with a diverse group 5, 6 and 7 years old children. Many of my students come from single-parent homes. They love to think on their own and explore new ideas. My bilingual classroom is 80% free or reduced lunches. Many of the children have different difficult living environments. We learn reading, writing and math in Spanish and English. Our school encourages a flexible seating model and free choice thinking. Thank you for any help that you can donate.
My Project
Many of my students come from very diverse homes. Sometimes, my classroom is the only safe environment in which they feel safe. The supplies that you are helping supply my room with are going to make them feel welcome, excited and comfortable to learn.
My school encourages each classroom to have flex seating options to promote learning.
We currently are building our classroom to have a variety of choices. Flex seating gives children the option to feel comfortable like it were their homes, while learning.
The items I have chosen are calming, neutral items to help the children feel at peace in their environment.
