My Project

In unit 3 students learn about the body through the phenomena of cancer. They begin to unpack what is cancer and how it develops in the cells of the body. One of the lessons is focused on looking at slides on a screen that depict normal and cancerous cells. I would like to have the students look at similar cells under a microscope. Having these slides will bring the lesson alive to help students begin to understand how cancer develops and begins to overwhelm the body.

Our school already has microscopes so this will help to supplement their understanding of the cell cycle and how cancer and bacteria operate in the body.

The phone pockets are an organizational tool to help support our cellphone free classroom. The pens are to help students and myself as we work on our writing skills to improve the precision in our science writing.
