Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have the potential to reach the stars. Coming from low income neighborhoods they are often denied the simplest and most common resources needed to become positive role models within their lives and those around them. 3rd grade is a trying year where most students are gaining both personal and academic responsibility. My students are finding the balance between both and building on skills such as listening, comprehension and organization can mean the difference between succeeding and not reaching their full capability. My 3rd grade class is extremely diverse! We all come from different backgrounds, whether it is our ethnicities, home life, or even the daily challenges of managing ADHD or behavior caused by trauma we all strive to do our best to succeed in all we do. We are a full group of many personalities and dreams that will never make for a dull day or classroom!
My Project
Help my students expand their minds and smash the Third grade Science MCAS. 3rd grade is a year of science exploration that gets students interested in investigating the world around them.
These STEAM kits, earth quake simulator, and STEM activities will allow my students to become familiar with facts and vocabulary that will enhance their “science talk” and develop the ability to ask questions and reasonably explain their findings.
These skills will help students reason, become successful thinkers and smash MCAS!
These arts and crafts materials can break up a third grade hectic schedule or simply serve as a reward for student’s non stop efforts and quality work!
