My students are 7th and 8th graders who take pride in their rural community. They support and encourage each other, whether it be in academics, athletics, or through personal triumphs or hardships. They welcome new students into our school with friendship and accept them as part of our family.
I love that my students are proud of their roots and show so much compassion towards one another.
They embrace their talents and use their learning to become better versions of themselves. I want to inspire them to continue on the path to becoming our leaders of tomorrow. Real-world teaching provides opportunities to inspire their curiousity. When given those opportunities, it is amazing and awe-inspiring to see the way their minds work as they engage and question.
My Project
In a previous Donors Choose project, my class received a Scanner Copier Printer Unit to be able to scan pictures. I'd like to take advantage of the other features of the unit by allowing students to print in color. I'd like this laptop to be able to complete a printing station for students to use.
Currently, my students only have access to black and white printing, while color printing will bring life to their projects.
This access is also very limited, as teachers have to do the printing for them. While I will monitor what is printed, it will give students a bit more freedom and flexibility to make better use of their time.
I am also requesting ink to get us through the year. This will give students opportunities to print graphics to use on posters and other projects.
