My students need a whole group instruction rug so that they can sit comfortably during our 45 minute period. We also need a tabletop easel for small group instruction.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I am going to be teaching a 5th grade class at a Title I school in Seaside, California. The majority of our students are English Language Learners and very bright, happy individuals. The students at my school are always needing that extra push to do their very best and knowing somebody, outside of their loving teachers, cares for their success and is willing to purchase something for them will make their confidence soar.
They are kind, caring, strongly independent, and in fifth grade, they are one step away from a new school.
This is the year for them to get organized and raise the expectations they hold for themselves.
My Project
These materials will help my students to be more comfortable during instruction. They are not used to sitting on the ground and often complain of "butt aches". Having a cushioned rug will help with this issue.
Being able to have my students focus in on what I am saying is extremely important and beneficial for their learning experience.
Having the small group easel is going to help my instruction because I will be able to write out questions and use it when having students answer questions as well.
Both of these items will help me to teach my students to the best of my ability. These items are ones that I have seen other teachers use and have success with and they would be extremely helpful!!
