Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My eighth graders are absolutely incredible. I am privileged to have this group of scholars. We are continuing to study the physical sciences, and their passion for learning is amazing to witness.
These students are driven to succeed in science and need your help to fully understand advanced physics concepts.
Your donation will help synthesize everything we have learned this year, and will help promote interest in science for future students as well. Chicago Public Schools are severely underfunded. It is not right that my students of color do not have access to the same resources as their white, suburban, more affluent peers. Your donation will help to level the playing field.
I want these students to pursue college and career opportunities in the STEM fields. Many of them do as well, and are constantly asking me questions about college and graduate school, in addition to applying to STEM high schools. Help promote science inquiry with these students so they can pursue their dreams.
My Project
I love teaching about evolution and natural selection. It's so fascinating and incredible yet, sadly the materials it requires are often far too expensive to make the unit hands-on and engaging. Your contribution can change that.

The Stimulating Darwinian Theory kit will help show evidence for natural selection and give my students hands-on experience with ecology. The Genetics and Evolution Kits will help create centers for my students to learn about evolution building upon what they have already learned about genetics!
