My incredible preschoolers come from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. My students are also diverse in their learning styles and abilities. My classroom combines regular education and special education student. We support them individually while building a secure sense of community!
We spread love through exploration!
Part of our preschool program is play based which is why having interactive opportunities would really help enhance every center. They love to pretend and use their imaginations. We are an International Baccalaureate Magnet School. The focus is to teach children to learn through problem solving and experiences.
Our schools incredibly rigorous even at the preschool stage and these children are ready for reading and writing during their second year of preschool. I want to provide everything possible for their minds to absorb as much as possible. With budget cuts in education, I am hoping that DonorsChoose will help fill this need.
My Project
As a preschool teacher, there is a lot to balance. I have a mixed age classroom which also incorporates special education and regular education. DonorsChoose has helped my classroom move so far along over the last two years! This is a very special order. I am combining both classroom organization and hands-on materials to enhance their learning. One of my favorite things to do is take learning outdoors! The folding cart will make it much easier to bring centers and learning outside for all to enjoy. My little ones love to use games to learn, so the alphabet bean bags will be a BLAST!

My students are my children. I have the same students for two years in a row. This allows me to learn what my children's interests are and then order things that they specifically enjoy. For example, my students this year are fascinated with the world, space, and planets. I was lucky enough to find floor size puzzles to support their enthusiasm! They are also incredible artists and used up quite a bit of our art material this year, which is why I would like to order them new crayons and markers for a fresh start.
I am a naturally organized person and teacher. Several of the items that I am hoping to have are going to help with classroom organization. There are often other people in and out of the classroom, so I look forward to having a label maker to clarify. The bins, folders, and hanging chart will unclutter and the classroom. Every year we run through Velcro (which we use for their sit-spot) and laminating sheets. Laminating helps us preserve items for the following school year and limits waste, I want to thank each of you!
