My students are creative, thoughtful, loving and full of inquisition! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging lessons and activities that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances even though they have daily struggles in and out of school.They want to grow both personally and academically. They are my "why" and the reason I love my job.
My school is in a township that surrounds Indianapolis.
The students come from homes struggling with low socioeconomic status, but preserver despite these setbacks.
Every student in my classroom absolutely is eager to learn, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly from that of other students. Daily we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating and learning options, to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! My students are truly an incredible. I am so lucky and thankful to have a group of students who love to learn!
My Project
These Kindle Fire tablets will make a huge difference for my students. It will give them access to an alternative way of learning that will keep them engaged and ready to learn.
My students would explore a whole new world of possibilities!
They will be able to use this alternative learning method to be as independent at possible, yet still have assistance when they need it. Tablets would allow my students to access apps that could further and deepen their understanding of a topic. Students could use tablets during Science for research and viewing videos about the topic we are on. During ELA, students would be able to preform handwriting activities and read aloud books at their own pace, on their level.
