Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This school year I have a full day pre-k class with students that are the age of 3 and 4 years old. For most of them it is their first experience being in a school setting. My students are sweet and shy, and come to school with a desire to learn. They like socializing and love to play.
I want their first experience at school to be a pleasant one.
I enjoy seeing how my students light up when they finally are able to accomplish a goal and unfortunately will not be able to witness any of it. My students want to learn, want to create, want to be engaged.
My Project
Due to the unfortunate COVID-19 my students had to go home with limited material and now will not be given the chance to return to their classroom. Unfortunately, I was not able to prepare as much as I would have loved to be able to provide them with more-at-home materials to help them learn. My students are the smallest of all in our building and they way they learn is not like the rest.
My pre-k students are learners who learn by hands-on-exploring, socializing with peers, and interacting with their teacher and now are losing out due to COVID-19.
The material chosen is to be split apart into the number of students that are in my class and provide them with activities to be able to do at home with the support of their families.
