Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom is a busy classroom filled with lively kindergartners who are constantly growing and learning. Being aware that they spend most of their time with me is a constant reminder of the impact I have on their success.
Like most students, they love technology.
There are many educational programs that can help them succeed. My kids are always engaged in a lesson where I'm showing it to them on my tablet. They love to take turns holding it, using it, playing educational games, looking at pictures, etc. on it. If they are able to "play" on their own tablets and/or boards while learning then it's a win-win.
My Project
As a teacher, I look for ways to keep my students engaged while teaching them. There are so many ways to approach a lesson and I've learned that kids are most excited when the lesson, a task, an assignment, etc. involves the use of technology.
The tablets and boards will be used for reading, math, science, other educational programs and handwriting practice by helping with letter formation.
I would be thrilled to give my students equipment where they can go on apps such as Moose Math by Duck Duck Goose, Starfall ABC's, Thinking Time Pro, Toca Tea Party and Touch and Learn-Emotions (and many more!) to practice kindergarten skills to become successful.
