My 4th grade students need to have access to technology to enhance their learning experience and succeed in today's technologically advanced world. I plan to create a successful classroom that incorporates technology and collaborative learning to reach each student's full potential.
My students are enthusiastic, creative and very bright.
They need to have access to technology to learn 21st century skills
Many of them live in poverty and do not have computers at home. A quarter of my school serves special education students, many of them being deaf and hard of hearing. My school is a safe place for them to learn and grow. We have created a positive learning environment and the addition of 2 iPads will open up the world for them.
My Project
My students will use the iPads to research topics in science such as electricity and magnetism as well as California Indians, and the gold rush during social studies. These two iPads will be vital to collaborative work during math and language arts centers, where students are differentiated into smaller groups to create an ideal learning environment.
These iPads will enhance the learning environment and help give my students technological skills that they will need to be successful.
They will be learning through project based activities as well as educational games to develop 21st century skills.
