Our school population is mainly "ENL" English New Language learners. We are a Title I school, which means we don’t always have the resources to buy needed materials.
In the upcoming school year, I will be teaching a minimum of twenty-five 4th graders that are from low income families and are English New Language learners.
My students come from a diversified cultural backgrounds and require additional educational support. They are motivated individuals that are seeking to learn and share their knowledge with their peers. They enjoy group-work and hands-on activities.
My Project
The magnetic dry erase board will be used for multiple purposes. For instance, students will be able to present individual or group work based on their comfort level. The children will have an opportunity to choose how they will present their work. Since the board is magnetic, students will be able to hang the charts they created during group work.
Students will use the requested dry erase board when helping one another solve math problems or explaining a mathematical procedure to the class.
Students will also use the board for word work. Our current board is old, the laminate is worn out, and is no longer capable to erase. They may use the dry erase or magnetic for the presentation.
