"Oh The Places You'll Go" is one of my favorite books of all times! My goal in teaching is to help my students to be successful in whatever their passions are. We love to challenge ourselves every day!
A good portion of the students in my school receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Many of them come from difficult living situations, but they are excited to come to school! We have approximately 425 students that cover grades K-5.
This will be my first year teaching at this school, but I student taught there last school year. I felt like a part of the family as soon as I walked in the door on my first day. Everyone is there to help each other and every student, regardless if they are in the same grade or even the same building.
My Project
The supplies that I have requested are basic supplies such as pencils, crayons, notebooks, and markers that will be used to start the school year. Many of my students will not be able to afford to bring their own supplies, and I only receive a small amount of money from the school. Those students who are able to provide their own supplies may not be able to afford replacements throughout the year. I would love to have a supply to give them as the year progresses.
If I am fortunate enough to receive these supplies, they will make a huge difference in getting us off on the right foot. It is very difficult to teach to a group of students that do not have the necessary basic resources to complete their assignments.
These supplies will make a HUGE difference in my classroom and in the lives of my students.
They will allow the students to participate actively in the classroom with the supplies necessary to complete their assignments.
As a first year teacher who has spent a lot of money over the last year to pay for my Masters program, these supplies would be a huge help to me personally. They would help me to feel prepared for the first day of school.
