My music class is a place where students are excited to learn and discover all aspects of the performing arts. Students spend the year learning the foundational skills used to succeed in the world of music.
Our school, located right outside of Orlando, FL, is comprised of over 1400 of the most amazing kindergartners through 5th graders who come from all different walks of life.
Whether they are learning to play instruments, singing songs, composing their own music, improvising, or moving to music from around the world, they are always excited to explore the world of music. They use their creative minds and talents to become the best musicians they can be.
My Project
I'm requesting funding to attend the National Association for Music Education's National Conference in Orlando, FL. This National Conference happens once a year and is a chance for music educators to connect with others from around the world.
If I am able to attend this conference, I will be able to fill my teacher-toolbox with ideas and lessons for my students in every grade.
It will also help me expand my teaching techniques, offer new ideas and knowledge to better educate the students at our school, and provide information on how to better incorporate the National Music Standards into the lessons I teach.
Along with this, I will be able to earn 15 hours of professional development learning about a wide variety of topics in music education. While attending, I will also be able to sample new products for the music educators.
As a music educator, I have always dreamed about attending this conference. Because it is in Orlando this year, being able to attend is that much easier! I would love to be able to fill my classroom with fresh ideas from music educators from around the world.
