Thankful Thursdays is a schoolwide initiative led by our students and faculty. Many clubs and organizations have worked together to show what Andrew Lewis Middle School has to be grateful for and appreciate all we have! How many middle schools do you know focusing on a positive mindset!
We have a diverse ethnic and socioeconomic student population from a small suburban city in Southwest Virginia.
We have a growing English Language Learning population. We have amazing programs such as Girls Who Code, Chess Club, Robotics Club, FCA, Drama Club, school sports, band, and more! Our students have many interests and are always looking for new ways to learn!
My Project
Help us create and apply 21st Century skills, by providing 21st-century technology! Currently, our students seek (and some have) the knowledge to create apps. However, we do not have the devices to support applying their understanding! We are asking for three iPad and iPad covers to use for our Computer Science classes, Robotics Club and Girls Who Club.
We will use the iPads to program, learn to code and create applications to help our school and community and to increase Computer Science education for all.
