My students come from a poverty-stricken area. By providing them the needed tools and technology, they can be given the opportunity to reach limitless success and knowledge! We work daily on interactive notes, games, and skill reviews. My fellow teachers and I work diligently to help our students overcome poverty and realize that knowledge is power! You can be the spark in someone's life to start their fire and passion for learning something! These kids are the future and we can help one tool and piece of technology at a time!
My Project
My class is seeking to get headphones to help further engage them in environmental science. My students have thrived during our weather unit. We have gotten to know many facts about severe weather and the effects it has on not only humans and animals, but the land as well.
Science comes to life through experiences and hearing.
With the headphones, the students will get to not only watch engaging videos, but they will also be able to create their very own video. I would like the opportunity to give students to chance to create their own "campaign" for environmental science issues as they relate to our standards. Our media specialist of the school has a green screen area that the student could film in front of. Combining their footage with their pictures and research the students would develop a deeper understanding than any textbook could teach them.
My goal is to get students excited about what they learn. I want students to be motivated to explore and create farther than they can even imagine! They have all the potential...they just need the support to achieve it!
