Help me give my students a Multicultural Clothing Set, Grandma's and Grandpa's Dress-Up Trunk to expand their creativity and a Space-Saver Dress-Up Center to organize it all.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I currently work in a Title I urban school. This year 24 kindergartners entered my class. They are an extremely diverse group of regular and English language learner students from various ethnic backgrounds and races. Some of my students have been to preschool, others to day care and some have never have been to school at all.
No matter what previous experiences my student have before coming into my classroom, they always come with a willingness to learn and always leave with knowing more than they expected.
They are hard working and teach me as much as I teach them. My students are always up for the challenges I throw at them.
My Project
The items I am asking for will greatly expand my students' imagination and creativity. For early childhood, dramatic play is how they pre-write for their stories. In dramatic play, students brainstorm and act out their stories. Their stories come from their experiences and knowledge. Having the right materials helps to bring these stories to life.
New dress up clothes, a puppet theater and new items to replace and expand the dramatic place center will inspire new colorful stories for my students to act out.
With the items I have chosen, my students can add to the stories they already know. They will be add new setting, create new plots and invent solutions to their problems. The stories will become more complex because they have the right props to tell their stories.
