My Students

As a middle school science teacher, I believe that my students deserve to experience learning science in innovative, creative ways. During this time in the world, education is being re-imagined, and we are finding new ways to engage, inspire, and motivate our students to learn and grow into their purpose.

Many of my students are classified as economically disadvantaged, yet they are eager to know what exciting activities they will experience in science class each day.

Although I do not have control over circumstances they may be experiencing outside of school, I know that I can make a difference by providing them with engaging, innovative, and real-world applications and activities in my classroom each day.

My students come to my class with different science experiences and backgrounds, and many are faced with barriers such as learning disabilities, language barriers, or lack of experiences and exposure to engaging science investigations and the use of technology. Regardless of these barriers, I am challenged with the responsibility of making sure each individual student receives the best learning experience so that they can be prepared for their next level of learning and their future careers.

My Project

This project is designed to help me fund more materials for my classroom store. I serve a wonderful group of students. I want to make sure that I can show my appreciation for coming to class with a positive attitude each day. My students work hard each day to maintain good character and to give their best effort each day during class activities. They are rewarded with "titan bucks," but we need to create a store in the classroom for them to spend those titan bucks.

Everyone enjoys being acknowledged for their hard work and effort regardless of age, and I want to make sure that I am able to provide a tangible reward for my students.

I selected fidget toys and items such as fruit snacks, gold fish crackers, and a pack of assorted snack items. In addition, I selected a set of hanging pocket charts to store waterproof stickers to organize display for the incentive store.
