My students need a movable whiteboard to see power-point and educational videos and cork bulletin boards to display their work. I teach in a cooking lab with three walls of cabinets and one wall all windows.

My Students

The school that I teach in has a magnet EL program with 51 students. This is a self contained classroom of students who are new to the English language. We also have an EL pull-out population bringing our school to have the largest amount of EL students in the district.

60% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch, which is higher than the state average and have high financial needs.

My students' families are most often simply unable to afford the basic school supplies that we use throughout the year. In spite of these challenges, I know that my students are capable of achieving great things, because every year I see my students meet and exceed the highest standards!

My Project

My students love to see the work they have created displayed in the classroom. Unfortunately, I do not have any place to display their work. The classroom is a cooking lab with cabinets on three of the walls and the forth wall is all windows. I would like to have two large bulletin boards placed in the hallway outside my room. This will allow all students to see the work created in our classroom. There is also very limited space to write. I would like to have a movable white board to show Power-Points, videos and communicate visually with students on a daily basis.
