Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from very low-income families, so they really don't get to experience a lot in life. Our school is a Title I school, but our teachers wouldn't want to teach anywhere else.
My students are really great kids who want to excel and become great leaders and people.
It's a great thing that they can see themselves out of the situation they are in and into a much better one. They strive to do well and try so very hard to do a great job.
I have had the option to go to other schools and to teach with friends of mine, but these kiddos just fill my heart with joy, and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else, even when I have the option to work with students that are not within the limits that these students are.
My Project
My students are all Title One students. We are an AVID school and my students do service projects. With the Cricut Joy, we can continue to make things for the assisted living homes that are near our school. We can also use the Cricut Joy to make cards for the student's families and their other teachers for holidays. I will be looping with my students this year, so they'll have me again next year.
My students love to make a card and bookmark for their family and for the people in the assisted living home.
When we get back to school in the fall they can use the Cricut Joy for holidays and other celebrations. Since we have made things in the class before, adding a card would be awesome!
