Help me give my students a C-Pen reader so they can be independent!
This project expired on September 5, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is a small, one teacher per grade, K-6, rural school, with one third of the student population being low income. My students struggle with academics due to having either learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, speech/language disabilities, or ADHD. It is a blessing getting to work with these kids everyday and find ways to help them be successful in school. My students work hard and do not use their disabilities as an excuse but as a motivation to better themselves.
A majority of my students have learning difficulties in reading. They require most of their work to be read to them due to being below grade level in reading. Having access to a C-Pen Reader would allow the student to take control and responsibility of their learning. The student would not have to wait for someone to read assignments and quizzes to them. They could just pick up a C-Pen and move at their own pace. These pens are also a great tool to help those who are dyslexic. I want these pens to be available for my students to use in the classroom as another teaching tool to help them learn.
