My students need this Phonemic Awareness reading center for individualized instruction.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My day consists of working with 25 kindergarten children. Each child is at a different academic level. As their teacher, it is my job to reach each student. This is a very difficult task without the proper resources. This kit will help us tremendously.
My kids are twenty-five wonderful and energetic children.
They are very eager to learn! My school is a very high poverty school, and over half of the school is on free lunch. My kids want to learn, but lack the resources at home. So, I have to do everything in my power to help them reach their goals. My students are all on different academic levels, so I need different sources to help my kids. As for the home life, many of the parents are not able to help their children. Because of this, I am more determined to meet all of their needs. My school goes from preschool to the 6th-grade and we have almost 900 students. Therefore, requesting and receiving materials is almost impossible. Any help from generous donors would be amazing!
The resources I requested will be put to very good use. I like to use work stations in my classroom almost every day of the week. This Phonemic Awareness kit, I requested, can have up to four kids in each group. I will be able to see the progression by using these resources. My stronger students will be able to help my weaker students, and my weaker students will become more confident in their learning. My students are able to check their work and move on to harder skills once they have mastered current skills.
I believe that by using this reading kit, my students will become more avid readers.
I believe that by trial and error, my students will be able to see their mistakes, and have the ability to further progress. I work whole group for part of the morning, but then break up in small groups. This will help me see which students are mastering the skills and which ones need more help.
