Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the reason I get up in the morning with a smile on my face; I am excited to work with them every day. They motivate me to be a better teacher. Throughout the year, I want to help them as much as I possibly can by bringing math to life and providing them with new opportunities.
I want to provide the best learning environment I possibly can, where students look forward to going to class every day and are sad to leave at the end of the class period.
I teach at a Title I school, meaning the majority of my students are economically disadvantaged. Even with the hardships they go through my students have the biggest hearts in the world. They are always wanting to help each other and even provide a lending hand to adults around the school. I am extremely blessed to work with the students that I do.
My Project
Throughout the year, I utilize color to help bring important information to life or help explain various concepts like identifying bases and heights of various shapes. By starting the skill of highlighting key information, I set my students up for success as they move through their educational career. Several students enjoy using highlighters to help them focus on the key points when dissecting questions.
Color helps brings math to life, highlighters and markers will help my students focus on key points on harder concepts while taking notes and completing different activities to show their understanding of concepts.
Mr. Sketch markers will provide various colors for my students, and these markers are chiseled which will allow my students to have options when they want to add color to their activities. Highlighters are something I use on a regular basis in my class to help highlight vocabulary words along with key information. The Crayola markers provide me fun, colorful options when writing on the classroom whiteboard.
