Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located on the south side of our town. We have over 1,200 students ranging from Pre K to eighth grade. In 2008, we had the opportunity to open up a brand new “High School Prep Center” housing our seventh and eighth grade students. We have a state of the art computer lab in addition to an art lab and ever-growing library. Our school creates a safe and welcoming environment for our students. They work hard academically and socially. We are currently a 1+ school.
My Project
I work with students that are not currently at grade level for reading and math. These materials will help these students feel like they are having fun but they are really learning.
These students really want to make their reading and math goals.
Using these materials will help them get excited about learning while working in small groups.
Students will use the sight word games in order to increase their word fluency. They will work on the math games in order to make computation fun and easy for them.
These materials will truly allow these students to feel confident in their learning.
