My students need more support than typically developing peers in learning about social skills, having friends, how to handle anger, and multiple other adaptive behavior skills.
My classroom is a self-contained special education classroom that serves students with cognitive disabilities.
Their abilities are wide in variety and are the focus of our classroom!
My students need differentiated instruction in order to learn adaptive, behavioral, and academic skills. Their disabilities range from Down Syndrome, Autism, Intellectual Disability, and others.
Despite what their diagnosis is, my students are capable of learning and growing! It is my job to identify their learning style, be creative, and make learning fun.
My Project
These books are focused on specific adaptive behavior and social skills that my students need to be successful in school, home, work, and anywhere they might go. Bean bag chairs will help my students be comfortable and want to read and learn in our classroom.
My students need to learn social skills and adaptive behavior skills to help them be successful all throughout their lives.
Unlike others, my students need help in understanding social norms, social interactions, and other adaptive behavior skills. Through reading stories, role play, and practicing skills in various settings, my students can become successful in social situations.
