My Students
My students are a hardworking group of kids. They range in reading levels from level A (beginning ELL) to U (above grade level). Although my student's academic ranges are so varied, they are not afraid to face the challenges that present themselves daily. They love reading(at whatever level they are on). They enjoy making and sharing books.
I believe that my students are special because of their desire to help each other grow.
I try to instill in them that they are truly are "their brother's keeper". They understand and accept this challenge to help each other.
My Project
All students should be given the same opportunity to grasp reading whether they are reading on a level A or a level Z. I teach students who range in reading levels from pre-emergent to level Z. The English Language Learner games will help my beginning ELLs to master readingI
Daily, I am trying to obtain materials such as leveled readers and literacy centers from the internet and other places to help me to meet the reading needs of my students.
My students need magnetic sentence strips pockets, research project kits and journals. If these materials, and items such as reading clips which help students monitor their reading, were readily available to me and my students I wouldn't have to spend so much time planning lesson and searching for materials. These materials will be a tremendous help to all of us.
